Why we use post consumer recycled and not compostable plastic for our bags?

Compostable bags do not compost when sent to landfill

When a poop bag is thrown away in a park or home bin, it will end up in a landfill. However, landfill conditions lack the moisture and oxygen needed to break down waste properly. Even if a bag is labelled compostable, biodegradable, or degradable, it will not decompose as expected in a landfill. If you have access to a compost bin and dispose of the bag there, choosing a compostable brand is a great option—but otherwise, it won’t degrade any faster in landfill conditions and our recycled bags are the most eco option.

Recycled plastic has the lowest carbon footprint of all materials

Manufacturing poop bags using recycled plastic produces a carbon footprint of 86% less than manufacturing with virgin plastic / compostable bags. It also uses 44% less energy to manufacture.

Gives virgin plastic a second life!

Our poop bags ensure their benefits remain intact, even if they end up in a landfill. We’ve developed a way to create durable bags using recycled materials—specifically post-consumer recycled plastics. This means every one of our bags began as discarded waste that has been collected, cleaned, and transformed into something useful again.
